In this world, we will encounter hardship, pain, and evil. It is part of living in a fallen world, one that has been marked by sin since the beginning of time. Yet, even in the darkest moments, God’s light continues to shine. He never turns His back on us. Instead, He works through every trial and circumstance to bring about good in ways that are often far beyond our understanding. As Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” What feels like a breaking point may, in time, be revealed as a turning point toward something greater.
When we witness suffering or experience loss, our first instinct is to question why a loving, all-powerful God allows such things to happen. But God’s wisdom reaches far beyond human sight. Just as Joseph told his brothers who had once betrayed him, “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20). God can take even the cruelest intentions of man and turn them into opportunities for growth, redemption, and blessing. Evil does not have the final word — God does. And His word is always one of restoration, renewal, and victory.
If you look closely, you will see the hand of God in moments when you thought you were utterly alone. Think of the times you’ve been rescued from what could have been a disaster — a sudden change of plans, an unexpected delay, a door that closed when you wanted it open. How many times has God protected you in ways unseen? Psalm 121:7–8 promises, “The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Even in chaos, His purpose remains steady, weaving beauty from ashes.
Steps to Strengthen Your Trust in God’s Plan
1️⃣ Begin each day with surrender.
Start your morning prayer by saying, “Lord, I trust You with this day and all that’s in it.” This sets your heart on faith, not fear.
2️⃣ Pause before reacting.
When something goes wrong, take a deep breath and ask, “God, what are You trying to show me through this?” Perspective transforms panic into peace.
3️⃣ Read God’s Word daily.
Scripture is filled with stories of His redemption and power over evil — Joseph, Job, Esther, Paul — reminders that God always prevails.
4️⃣ Thank God for unseen protection.
Make it a habit to thank Him not only for what you know, but also for the mercies you never saw. Gratitude builds trust.
5️⃣ End each day in reflection.
Before bed, look back and ask, “Where did I see God today?” The more you seek His presence, the more clearly you’ll recognize His hand in all things.
Final Thought
We may not always understand the “why,” but we can always trust the “Who.” God’s power is not diminished by the evil in this world; rather, He transforms it. Just when you think everything is falling apart, you’ll one day look back and realize everything was falling into place — exactly as God intended. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
